Amwell (American Well) uses telehealth to improve people's access to quality care. The company's Exchange offering is made to enable its partners — including health systems, insurers, employers, and retailers — provide telehealth services. American Well on its end provides software, services, and access to clinical services for its partners to offer a complete telehealth service. The company's mobile and web service connects doctors with patients for live, on-demand video visits over the internet, and handles all the administration, security, and record keeping that modern healthcare requires. American Well also runs a direct-to-consumer service, Amwell, which connects users with board-certified doctors 24 hours a day using the phone, tablet or computer. The service is covered by insurance for over 80 million people, including the insurance provided by the brands like UnitedHealthcare, Cigna, Aetna and more. Alternatively, users can also pay at the time of their visit. Most virtual visits with Amwell doctors take about 10 minutes, but users can always add time if they need to. Doctors on Amwell can review the patient's history, answer questions, diagnose, treat and even prescribe medication. Prescriptions will be sent to the user's pharmacy of choice.
