Bloomlife has developed a smartphone-connected sensor that puts clinically validated information into the hands of expecting parents starting with a better way to visualize and track contractions. The company's long-term mission, to improve the health of moms and babies, is fulfilled through its community of moms. By crowdsourcing the largest and most comprehensive dataset on maternal and fetal health parameters, Bloomlife hopes to accelerate long overdue advancements in women's healthcare. The Bloomlife at-home contraction monitor is offered for both iOS and Android and available as a rental for $20 per week. It passively detects and listens to the natural signals from an expectant mother uterine muscle as it contracts, decodes those signals and sends the data off to a connected smartphone. Users are then provided with insights from the companion app.
