E-Vone

E-Vone is making smart shoes for elderly people. The company's shoes feature sensor-fused midsoles that pack GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope and a pressure system that knows every time someone put on the shoe on and activates the alarm. Because shoes embed a GSM chip, they can work even without a connected smartphone. Therefore, E-Vone requires a mobile plan of its own, which comes included with the monthly cost of the service. Said service will alert the family members and caretakers if an elderly wearer falls. When that happens, the wearer has a few seconds to cancel the alarm and if he/she doesn't do that — the device will automatically call the pre-defined support chain.
