InterSystems Corporation is a privately held vendor of software systems and technology for database management, rapid application development, integration, and healthcare information systems. Its products are the InterSystems Caché DBMS and application development environment, the Ensemble integration platform, DeepSee embedded real-time business intelligence, and the HealthShare healthcare informatics platform. InterSystems also sells the TrakCare healthcare information system outside the United States. Built on InterSystems' HealthShare, TrakCare is one of the most popular EMR/EHR systems that is used by healthcare organizations in 25 countries. The solution enables coordinated care within a hospital or across care settings throughout a region; it facilitates a seamless patient journey to improve safety and outcomes, control costs, reduce medication errors, expedite billing, maximize resource utilization, and achieve other strategic initiatives. TrakCare's clinical, administrative, and departmental modules share a single data repository and have a common user interface. Data entered once is immediately available to all authorized care providers. This in turn creates a consolidated view of each patient's history, provides secure access to records at every point of care and on any Internet-connected device, enables interoperability with legacy and future applications, and performs analytics that provide real-time insights to drive fully-informed actions. There is also a special version of the software, TrakCare for Laboratories, which is dubbed the world's first Laboratory Business Management System.
