Iodine is on a mission to change medicine by helping people find what works best for them. It has developed an online resource on medication information and real-world experience with medications, based on a database of more than 100,000 reports from Americans. Since September 2013, Iodine has been the lead developer with the Food and Drug Administration on the openFDA research and development project. Iodine combines data from valid research including the FDA and Cochrane Reviews, and captures new data that can generate new insights. It then uses design to build useful tools that work for real people, and to communicate serious information clearly and accurately. In addition to its website, the company offers its data and content through an API to select partners who want to bring meaningful, actionable information to their audience.
