Dubbed Zocdoc for Africa, Medbit is a platform that allows patients to search and book doctors based on availability, location, insurance coverage and specialization. This access to healthcare services is conducted in an easy-to-grasp manner, via Medbit's mobile app, from where users can search from a database of more than 200 doctors. The plan is to add more doctors and specialists in the months to come. The company makes its money by selling its service to hospitals and institutions, and it also accommodates doctors with their own practices. The Medbit Pro lets doctors list their practice, accept booking requests and get paid — all from a mobile phone.
