StoryUP is a neuro-immersive media company creating data-driven virtual and augmented reality products for stress management. Its XR kits are powered by story and the user's own biometrics via their wearables. The company began in 2015, trying to find a solution for terminally-ill WWII Veterans who were not able to physically travel to see their memorials in Washington, DC. Through honoreverywhere.com, it learned VR appeared to be impacting users’ moods and physiology. And in 2016, Dr. Jeff Tarrant and story technologist Sarah Hill started to study whether VR could be compounded to shift brainwave patterns and whether brainwaves could manipulate assets within a VR environment. As a result, they created Healium, the world's first "VR/AR channel for stress relief."
