Thanks for taking the time to visit our About page.
My name is Dusan Belic and I’m the founder of DHbriefs and DHISCO, and I want to be your companion in your digital health investments. That’s what DHISCO is all about – Digital Health Investor’S COmpanion.
Why me, you may wonder?
Well, I’d like to think that during the years I have accumulated a ton of knowledge about the industry. I’ve been covering the mobile space since 2006, and mHealth and the wider digital health space since 2012. I would assume I learned a thing or two about it since then.
Unlike many folks in this space, I don’t stem from the healthcare industry. I’m a tech guy with a BA in Economics. When I was younger, I wanted to be an investment banker only to realize that I like computers and the Internet much more. And, it will be up to the tech sector to change the healthcare industry once and for all. We’ve seen that the change won’t come from the inside.
Anyway, I started many different online ventures, many of which have failed. But I learned a lot from those failures.
One of the coolest projects I’ve been involved in was for a client involving the introduction of a digital workflow in a London flower shop. I was leading a small team of developers and designers that had to make a solution that was easy for florists to understand and use. We even had our mobile app for delivery drivers to provide them with the information about the next order and to get customers to sign the receipt. This all happened between 2004 and 2006, before the iPhone was announced.
In 2007, one of my websites was acquired by an American company and IntoMobile.com was born — at that time it was one of the leading mobile news blogs with a staff of 15 editors.
While I was covering this exciting industry, I’ve seen how tech companies are steadily getting into healthcare. And so, in 2012 (or so, I’m not sure) I launched mHealthSpot.com to cover the mobile health news.
Afterward, I created a paid offering (DHbriefs) in the form of reports covering several digital health niches.
And now, I want to help investors and perhaps investment bankers get a better bang for their buck and make wiser investment decisions.
Specifically, my team and I do the hard work of analyzing various startups in their seed and close-to-exit stages and present to you those that we think are the most interesting ones.
Also, as part of the service, we offer phone and/or email consultations, whichever works best for you.
While I can’t officially offer investment advice, I can provide some guidance. As I said, I know the space.
Well, that’s why we offer part of the content on the site for free (browse around the navigation to get the idea) and you can also book a free 20-minute call with me.
Let’s see whether we can work together.
I hope we can. Looking forward to e-meeting you. 🙂
To your success,
P.S. On a personal note, I’m born in December 1979, married, and the father of two lovely daughters. Also, I love wine. 🍷
