Founded in 2005 by Dr. Pat Banerjee, a pioneer in medical AR/VR research, ImmersiveTouch is focused on improving patient safety and satisfaction by using cutting edge technology to enhance the surgeon's work flow efficiency and, ultimately, patient outcomes. With ImmersiveTouch, surgeons are planning and practicing their cases, engaging patients with their personal surgical plan in VR, and training the next generation of surgeons. The company's solution for hospitals, called ImmersiveView, utilizes CT or MRI visual data (2D and 3D) to provide a unique experience that helps surgeons planning complex surgical cases. It enables doctors to easily view the target anatomy, clearly and accurately, just as it exists in reality. For the surgeon, there is the 510(k)-cleared ImmersiveView Surgical Plan (IVSP), allowing him/her to plan the surgery with haptics without relying on 3D printed anatomy. It is a comprehensive surgical planning service powered by state-of-the-art VR and haptics technologies. IVSP is a stand-alone modular software package that is designed to address and consolidate all VR preparation steps. Finally for device and procedure training, ImmersiveTouch has developed ImmersiveSim, which realistically replicates the surgical touch and feel of procedures and devices, providing unparalleled capabilities in training. It enables device companies to train surgeons and demonstrate products in the field, while residents can learn the latest procedures and tools.
