Founded in 2017, Pixee Medical is developing what it calls a new generation of computer-assisted surgery tools using artificial intelligence and mixed reality technologies. Its CE Mark-cleared orthopedic navigation system, called Knee+, uses a pair of smart glasses (Vuzix M400) for navigating prostheses without percutaneous bone reference or associated consumables. Pixee's dedicated instrumentation automatically transfers essential anatomical landmarks to the software. The surgical parameters are then displayed on a virtual screen combining real and virtual images. The company's proprietary software tools use the camera from glasses to accurately locate bone structures and instruments, while its customizable workflows provide the surgeon with assistance tailored to their needs without wasting time.
