Doccla is changing healthcare by building what it calls the virtual hospital ward. The company partners with caregivers to take patients out of hospitals and monitor them remotely using medical class IoT devices. As a result, Doccla enables early hospital discharge, while avoiding readmission and freeing up hospital capacity. Already, several NHS entities have selected Doccla's virtual ward services, with example patient groups including COPD, Covid-19 and heart.
Select clients: NHS.

Highlights ⭐

  • Solving a real problem: Doccla is working to solve the real problem by allowing hospitals to predict when beds will be freed up by monitoring patients remotely via wearable medical devices, thus helping to alleviate bottlenecks in the system.
  • It works: Doccla claims to have saved "thousands of bed days for the NHS," achieving a 29% reduction in Emergency Admissions and a 20% reduction in A&E attendance.
  • Easy to implement: It takes weeks, as opposed to month, to implement Doccla. Also, it is interoperable with a wide range of EHR systems.
  • Eyes on Europe: The funds raised from the seed round will be used to invest in the technology, and integrate further with the medical wearables and journal record systems. Doccla also plans to expand into European healthcare markets.
  • Differentiated offering: According to Dag Larsson, the company's CEO and co-founder, Doccla differs a lot from the competition in that it supports the entire patient journey (e.g. all last-mile activities like logistics, customer service, and even pre-configured mobile phones). This has help Doccla win contracts with extremely high patient and clinician approval.
