GiveVision provides innovative accessibility solutions to empower blind and visually impaired people into mainstream society, education, and employment, and to inspire increased social inclusion and ultimately equal opportunities for blind and visually impaired people. The company's flagship product, SightPlus, is a wearable headset that can be used to magnify close-up or far-away objects, change the contrast or apply custom filters to anything they are looking at. It is a hands-free, portable, easy-to-use device suitable for a large variety of tasks. GiveVision developed SightPlus in partnership with Sony which provided its world-leading imaging and display technologies for the project. The end result is a 110-gram (0.24-pound) light headset that has a six-hour battery life and comes with a rather long 36-month guarantee. Aside from Sony, the European Space Agency also helped and funded SightPlus' development with GiveVision using visual data processing technology created for European space satellites.
Select partners: Sony, UCL, European Space Agency, Telefonica, Pfizer, NHS, Enterprise Europe Network.
