TeiaCare is the company behind Ancelia, which they tout as the first AI-enabled digital assistant for elderly facilities. The solution includes an optical sensor that monitors the room, and detects images and sounds autonomously and automatically 24/7. Also included are carers' smartphone/tablet app with real-time notifications, and managers' app that provides reports on the care given and the conditions of the residents. As a result, Ancelia helps facilitate the work of caregivers, improving dedicated services and the quality of time spent with each resident.

Highlights

  • Growing market: The global senior population, especially in the Western hemisphere, is growing like never before and without technology, it would be impossible to properly serve all those people in their golden years.
  • Tech that matters: ANCELIA is providing nurses and caregivers with the opportunity to extend quality care to more residents, without any extra effort.
  • Nothing but benefits: Ancelia helps faster and more focused assistance, facilitates communication, reduces the stress of the unknown, reduces accidents (by detecting and giving warning of potentially dangerous situations), improves safety, and more.
  • Expansion plans: In addition to its home turf of Italy, TeiaCare is looking to other European markets for growth -- including Spain, France, and the UK.

Quotes 💬

In Europe, we have a rapidly ageing population - currently, 16% are over the age of 65, and this is expected to increase to 25% by 2030. A large focus for EIT Health is to improve the quality of life for people as they age, so that they can remain independent and disease-free for as long as possible. Supporting innovation that aims to improve the care of the elderly is extremely important as there has been an under-representation of new solutions in this field.
