Thalamos
Thalamos has developed mental health software designed to help psychiatrists deliver the best possible care by joining up admission, treatment and discharge care pathways. Fully encrypted and auditable, the software effectively digitizes the paper system to assist psychiatrists in storing, sharing clinical forms, handling finances, invoicing, and securely managing diaries. As a result, psychiatrists reduce risk and improve digital challenges facing mental healthcare.

Highlights β
- Replacing paper forms: Thalamos replaces the outdated system of paper forms that is currently used to arrange care. Instead, Thalamos offers a streamlined digital system which significantly lowers the risk of errors and eliminates unnecessary delays. This allows the most vulnerable patients to access life-saving mental health treatment sooner.
- An unmet need: It is estimated that 90% of all adults with mental health difficulties are supported and treated by their GP, leaving only 10% to be treated by specialist Psychiatrists. This begs the question - how many people are not presenting at all? That's what Thalamos is looking to improve.
- It works: Thalamos has helped to reduce average access to treatment time from 7 days to 15 hours. Also, 98% of NHS trusts have sent or received a Thalamos form - helping save one nursing ward shift per week.
- Interoperable: Thalamos is an interoperable end-to-end eMHA (Mental Health Act) software and administration system that integrates all parts of the mental health crisis care pathway. It also works with, and alongside, all existing hospital systems and processes. Whilst not a core record system, it is architected to work seamlessly with them. π

“
Acute mental health care is an immense challenge in the UK - it is both traumatic for patients, and also hugely time-consuming and disjointed for the various stakeholders providing care. Thalamos' groundbreaking digital workflow tool enables those involved in patient intake, treatment, discharge and ongoing support to work together more seamlessly than ever before, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and more efficient collaboration between the NHS, police, care providers and regulators.
